Operating from offices, retail premises and warehouses in the south east of England, the Company is experiencing rapid expansion, month on month increases in sales revenue and a growing database of satisfied customers.
Co-founder of the business, Martin Fretwell believes it is the growing database of satisfied customers that is the greatest achievement of the Company to date. “Satisfied customers let us know we are doing things well and offering the products and services they are looking for. If we keep our customers happy, there’s every reason they will continue to buy from us.”
The Company aspires to make ‘e-commerce everything it should be’. A pleasant online experience, quality products that are easy to find and purchase, competitive prices, quick delivery and excellent after-sales support. The ethos of the Company is encapsulated in the following quote, often attributed to Mahatma Gandhi:
“A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us an opportunity to do so.”
(Footnote: There is some controversy over the origin of the above quote in that some attribute it to Leon Leonwood Bean, founder of LL Bean whose company turnover was in the hundreds of millions at the time of his death in 1967. To us it sounds more like the quote of a successful entrepreneur than that of a religious leader. Whichever is correct however, the philosophy is no less valid!)
